Greek Festival at Fagan Park

There is a large migrant Greek population in Sydney and so it is no surprise that each year Greek culture, music and food is celebrated in a festival that runs for weeks.  We are here at Fagan Park at the festival in the north of Sydney.  This festival is not as large as those at Darling Harbour or in the Southern suburbs but is still good fun and a chance for us to catch up with Steve’s cousin Maria who has brought her twin boys for a bit of fun in the park.  Unfortunately, their little sister Olivia is sick and so her husband Shannon has stayed back to babysit her.

It is a gorgeous day and we enjoy some souvlakia and watch the dancing.  The kids enjoy themselves in the jumping castle and we enjoy catching up with Maria.

Picnic at Crosslands

We are finally starting to feel rested after finally arriving back in Sydney after our 7-month adventure in Europe and Sri Lanka.  The past few weeks have been busy unpacking, re-establishing our lives and catching up with friends and family.  We were asked to put in a proposal for a job by a local council so we had to hit the ground running when we returned.

We are here at Crosslands to celebrate my birthday and to catch up with our neighbourhood friends.  It is a beautiful day and our friends have brought loads of food and drinks and a kayak for a bit of fun in the water.  Steve and I are so exhausted that all we really want to do is lie under a tree and do nothing!

It is a great day of reconnecting with our local community, fun in the sun and friendship.
